A Barnabas Award # 1

for the nomination. Please check out her blog, there is something for everyone.

You have been chosen for this recognition because of the encouragement and inspiration you bring to your readers.β€œ

The way this works:

Thank the person who nominated you, and share their blog.

Think of five bloggers that encourage and inspire you and nominate them.

List five things about yourself.

Lastly, ask your nominees five questions. Why five? Because is the number that signifies grace.

5 things about me;

I enjoy blogging so much so that I look forward to the time I sit and write my posts.

Though I am a staunch advocate of honesty, my identity is a secret that I am forced to adapt because it gives me the independence to express my view openly.

I prefer to keep my religion to myself and not to did it here. That’s why I won’t be answering the last question.

Helping others comes instinctively to me, though I have sometimes gotten into trouble for it.

I want to stand for the downtrodden and underdog.

Here are Yonnie‘s questions:

1. Share a time when you felt, as if you were alone and why?

It was when I was young and grew up without a mother to care for me or to teach me about life. Though I had a very loving and caring father, a girl needs her mother.

2. How do you encourage and embrace a strangers?

I usually don’t interact with strangers much. But I would offer help if I see someone in need or trouble. If asked, I will give advice or assistance as well.

In blogging world, I do encourage strangers by giving them useful tips on blogging and time management.

3. When you are down, what encourages you to get back up and keep pressing on?

I meditate and talk to myself. I also talk to God and tell Him my problems. This lightens the load on my heavy heart.

I also walk and listen to music which helps to lift my spirits.

4. Name two things ways you encourage others?

I encourage those around me by reinforcing their self confidence. I encourage them to try new things and to believe in their abilities.

My Questions;

How important it is to reinforce self belief in oneself and others?

What inspires you on a daily basis?

How can we inspire our young generation to do the right thing for our planet?

What do you think about teaching moral and ethical values to our children in schools?

What is more important in life, intelligence or hard work?

I am gifting this award to;

Dr Tanya; as she was my inspiration to start blogging.

Fandango; he has inspired me and many other bloggers to write .

Beckie; she has been so supportive of me and many other bloggers here with her wonderful posts , comments and encouragement.

Rory; he is prolific writer, prompter and inspires us all.

Di; she is an inspiration and a wonderful blogger.

Though I have been inspired by so many people here , I find selecting just five restrictive. I must say that my blogging friends have been very kind to me and have always supported me and my blog.

I hope that you will be able to accept this award and select those who have inspired you the most to gift it to.

  1. Thank you for your kind nomination for this new award Sadje. It’s been a long day for me, but in answer to your questions,
    1. I was given the chance to rebuild my life which involved soul searching, self honesty and finding a means to believe in myself again. I would not change my current life for anything.
    2. My husband inspires me every day through his love and devotion to me. I will never take that for granted.
    3. I can’t honestly say as values and attitudes are constantly changing. Technology is flourishing, but even that is showing to have pitfalls and consequences as no-one seems to have taken into account the bigger picture..
    4. Multiculturalism is making this difficult as we are all losing our traditional values in trying to be PC and pleasing everyone when all it takes is just one to complain that someone looked at them funny and it’s a crime,
    5. You can reap the rewards of both, but the secret is finding the right balance, and that is different for everyone.

    As you say, it is difficult to select just 5 to nominate as like you there are many bloggers I follow who are truly amazing.

  2. Congratulations Sadje πŸ™‚

    I have just spent the last thirty minutes trying to work out who actually created this award in the first place – biggest mystery going – so many bloggers accept it and give thanks – but no one awards credit to the actual creator – and the creator seems to be invisible.

    However, well done on receiving the award and thank you too for the gift πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks a lot Rory. Yes there is no mention of who created this award. In fact this is first I have heard of it. It’s a pleasure to gift it to you. You’re one of those who inspire and encourage not only me but many other bloggers too.
