And the Words: “The man Jack sniffed the air. Then, without hurrying, he began to walk up the hill.” – From Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book.

~*~

Jack didn’t want to visit the old graveyard. The gravestones were broken, laying at drunken angles giving a depressing air to the whole scene. Most graves were so old that they had sunk half into the ground. The man, Jack sniffed the air. Then, without hurrying, he began to walk up the hill. He had decided to shift his business to someplace which wasn’t so dreary. Though he was a gravestone engraver by profession, he also had to think of his mental state. He knew that there was a village up the hill and was hoping to find work there.
