He was from an aristocratic lineage

She was simple pheasant blood

To his jaded mind, she looked an easy conquest

He was a victim of the twin evils

An abundance of wealth and arrogance

The affair was the herald of disaster and heartache

For her, while he thought he would get off

Without any repercussions and blame

But life has a way of finding ways to pay back

His descent into the dark brought dishonor and shame

Family estates splintered and crumbling under debt

The final release came with ignominious death

No one gets off scot free, no matter how high they be
