Weekend Writing Prompt #123- Delicate

Word Prompt

I think I was around eight or nine when I found these delicate handmade lace doilies. They were crocheted with white thread and had little pink and blue flowers in the design. I was overawed by the intricate pattern and workmanship. I found out that they were made by my mom. My mom passed away when I was six but her reminders were all over our home.

Today is her birthday. If she were alive, she would have turned 78. But she died at the age of 26. Forever young. I have done a lot of creative things but I could never do crocheting like she did!

  1. My mom would crochet afghans during the winter so they helped keep her warm. When she died we had a party and did a raffle for her extra afghans (she made probably 12 to 15) so her friends could have a little piece of her. Good post!
