Thursday Photo Prompt- Within #Wrotephoto

#writephoto

Welcome to this week’s writephoto prompt.

If you know where it was taken, please keep it to yourself to let imaginations play.

Use the image below as inspiration to create a post on your own blog… poetry, prose, humour… light or dark, whatever you choose.

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a summer landscape of rocky hills, seen from within a stone chamber.

Standing here in the shadow of the cave, he was sure that no one could see him. The vista in front on him was the summer at its best. Azure sky, brilliant green grassy hills and sunshine. But there was no joy in his heart. He felt as if the world was taunting him. He who was so happy and content a few days ago, had lost all will to live. What a difference a few sentences uttered by his doctor had made in his life, and at the way he looked at world. If he was going to die, then what was the aim of all this beauty in front of him.

But within him there arose a sentiment that at first felt alien but as he concentrated, he recognized it. It was the bud of hope. Hope that was enticing him to go out of the shadows into the bright light. Hope that was telling him to enjoy the time he had left, to the fullest. Hope that was nudging him to look up and not down.

Who knows what the future has in store for us?

  1. Oh, I love that. My favorite part: But within him there arose a sentiment that at first felt alien but as he concentrated, he recognized it. It was the bud of hope.

Also, the word treatment … very unique!
