Do as I say, not as I do.

Have you heard this one before? It’s usually parents or people in authority telling us, if not verbally than through their actions. This enigmatic statement usually confuses people a lot. A paradox which conveys duel standards much prevalent in today’s society. If a person can sanctify a code of behavior for themselves than why would you object to the same in others or your children?

The people, who should be accountable to the society have placed themselves above us and think that common laws of decency and moral values don’t apply to them and their actions. This surreal situation is seriously disturbing for us, the rest of the people. The “common man”! There a genuine fear that this ” I am above the law” attitude can take us back to dictatorship and a dystopian society. A remnant of dark ages!
