I have just read this very touching poem from Wendi of Simply Chronically ill.
It’s so well written and touched my heart. I am sharing this here with her permission.

when i see you cry
a small part of me dies
i want to shelter you from every storm
create a world that is safe
for you to be free from pain
i want you to move through life as you please
independently with abundance of laughter and joy
but life is not always fair
bad things happen to extraordinary people
and despite my deepest desire and my fervent prayers
i can’t make it better
so when i see you cry
part of me dies…….
Sadje, thanks for sharing this poem. This line “bad things happen to extraordinary people” is all too true which makes those things all the more painful.

A really beautiful poem expressing so well the helplessness that everyone has felt some time or the other.

Very beautiful. If we all could lean on each other in times of deepest pain, we would be stronger to bare the pain.

I don’t know if it’s too bland to simply like it. But I have little words to say. I’m in the same position yet I can now called it Privileged living although it’s sort of a roller coaster ride.

Sometimes we don’t have the words we want to express our feelings.
