BrewNSpew Café May 27/2019-Sanity is good?

We are alway expecting sane behavior. So that implies that sanity is a good admirable quality. Right? You agree?

Of course all sane people will agree! Did you notice, I said all the sane people would agree. But what about the rest of us, the slightly crazy, slightly off kilter and the tiny bit insane people?

We, who refuse to conform to the norms of the society. We, who think that doing things our own way is okay. We who are not afraid to stand up for what we believe in and to speak out for what we think is right! We are not exactly insane but from the standards of a judgmental society we can be seen as ” Not Normal“. Do we care? No we don’t. That’s why. We are thought to be crazy!

I, for one would not mind the label if it means that I do not conform to the expectations of people around me. Not to say that I would disturb other people with my craziness but I would, while minding my own business would do things my way. Choose my path and would walk on it if needed, all by myself.

We do need the slightly insane people in out midst. Otherwise we will be a boring bunch of conformists who do exactly what others expect of them.

If you are a bit crazy like me, come forward and join the ever growing crowd who don’t want to be what is expected. We want to do the unexpected and the unimagined!

What do you think?

Is it okay to be a bit crazy at times, or would you run a mile away from insanity?

Let me know what you think of it.

Waiting for your feedback and comments

  1. What is “normal” anyway? We are born individuals, and while we have much in common we are all different and unique. I like being unique – if that means I must wear the badge noting my so-called “craziness” so be it.

  2. I agree and excellent points made, Sadje! And the so-called normal people, well who are they to judge and who defines normal these days? I like being a little off-kilter because it’s who I am. Excellent post, Sadje, and thank you for contributing to the challenge. 🙂

  3. Your opening sentence hit it on the head Sadje, by defining there are degrees of insanity. Slightly insane is to be different from normal expectations. Which is okay. I would be very aware of people who are intensely insane.
