Gossamer Wing

The students had gathered around the table. It was the classic teachable moment for the day. On the table lay the corpse of a butterfly, it’s gossamer wing broken, hanging limp. The poor insect must have suffered the end during the wind storm last night. Tommy had found it and brought it to school to show it to his teacher. The students were pointed out the different parts of the insect and taught about its anatomy. The students were equally fascinated and disgusted by the lesson.
