Teams were ready to start the race. Edward was one of the favorites for the medal. Hurdles was his forte. He had trained long and hard for this event, because it was his chance to prove to his critics that he could win this race. He would prove that with his Autism, he was a really good athlete. His parents dropped him off at the venue for the competition and as mothers are, she could resist hurrying him, you’d better hurry, you don’t want to be late today.

And it was the day he got his first gold medal, finally.
