Fandango Flash Fiction Challenge # 5

So now it’s time for my fifth weekly Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge. The image below is from Google Images and is labeled for public use.

He was given the role of an extra, and that was of an ape. It didn’t dampen his elation or his enthusiasm. It was the break he was looking for and he was sure that he will impress the producer with his acting skills. They place a lot of tiny dot like monitors capturing the movements and at the end they would project the vision of the ape over that of the real actor’s face.

He went to the zoo to study how the apes behaved. He was so well prepared for his role that he was asked to guide others who were cast as apes as how to use the proper body language of an ape. But when the movie was released, not one of his friends or family could recognize him, he was so well camouflaged as an ape!

    1. Thanks a lot Li. I wasn’t sure it worked. I recently saw this documentary about making of one of the planet of apes movie and the sensors on one of the actors struck being similar to those in this picture. Thanks for liking

  1. I guess that’s what happens when you ape the ape! Loved the story and I did see the making of PotA with that headgear/face gear that helps the camera and the computer to make what we see so believable.
