Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “abash/a bash/bash.” Use “abash,” or “bash” as a noun or a verb. Bonus points if you manage all three. Have fun!
The birthday bash
The day was supposed to be bright and sunny, at least that was what the weather forecast said. But somebody messed up! The day dawned grey and dull. By the afternoon it had started to drizzle and Tommy had no hope of having the birthday bash outside in their beautifully manicured lawn. In a panic she started to think of options. She could cancel or postpone it but that would be an embarrassment that she wasn’t willing to face. Or she could hold the party inside. She did gave this option a lot of thought but it meant a lot of extra work for herself and the staff.
It left only one last option. She would ask her grandmother to hold the party in her huge house. She rang up granny and asked her if she could arrange to have the party at her place. But the verbal bashing she got from her left her abashed. Granny was not happy at the fact that she hadn’t called her or visited her in ages and had just rang her up to ask a favor of her.
