Whose fault it was that he was derelict in his duty

Not the fact that he stayed up all night watching TV

And it wouldn’t be because the uniform was not clean

That he was fascinated by the going on in the neighborhood

And forgot to switch on the alarm before going to bed at night

No, it wasn’t anything that he did or didn’t do, he was sure

It was the fault of the system, he could tell you rest assured

There was a time that we took our responsibilities seriously

But nowadays we just look around to see on whom or on what

Can the blame be placed squarely
