The goal post

The goalpost stood forlorn on the ground. Children were not playing here anymore. They had all grown up and had moved away. Different cities, different jobs. Then one day a new family moved to the area. They hired the cottage near the beach. The family had a couple of boys, twins in fact. They were eight years old and big fan of soccer.

Now they are playing here almost every day, sometimes among themselves only and on weekends bringing their friends and classmates to have a match. The matches generate a lot of joy, and cheering. And now the older residents stroll over to watch these matches. The place is alive again.
